Water damage is a general term that encompasses the various sorts of damage water can cause as a result of flooding or prolonged contact to something. Examples of water damage include the rusting of steel, rotting of wood, and molding of carpet. When most people think of water damage, they usually think of a catastrophic event such as a flood; however, it can occur slowly over time as well.
