English Language Study
Introduction
This innovative and integrated course is designed to
upgrade the academic level of language learners. The course
explores different contemporary themes and reinforces
vocabulary and grammar structures. It emphasizes the four
man skills of listening, speaking, writing and reading.
Programme Structure:
- One Year Diploma duration
- Two 2-hours lessons per Day
- Highly experienced lecturers
Programme Description:
This course focuses on six main aspects:
- Writing
- Students will be taught how to differentiate
between different genres eg: an explanation from an
exposition, description from argument.
- As a regular exercise, students will be required
to write academic essays.
- Grammar
- Grammar is taught as a part of whole texts
rather than a separate item.
- Speaking
- Students will practise class participation
skills offering input, feedback or lead discussions.
- Students will be asked to give oral
presentations.
- Listening
- Students will be asked to listen to recorded
lectures and take down important notes.
- Reading
- Students will learn reading skills to serve
different needs eg. Study reading, interpreting,
scanning for specific information, following
argument.
- Critical Thinking
- Students are introduced to different ways of
thinking and solving problems.
- These skills will be used by the students in
their essay writing and during class sessions.
